Our Story
In the early 90s, Jimmy and Scarlett received their cosmetology education in the very same shopping center where Edge Academy resides. In 1993, Jimmy and Scarlett opened their own salon in Manchester. They worked together for more 20 years, raised families side by side, and built a business that continues to thrive today. That salon, now known as Edge Salon, is still owned and operated by Scarlett. Their dedication and passion for providing excellence care and service is known throughout the southeast region. After years of styling hair, Jimmy moved into education and found his true calling. Scarlett continued serving her clientele but soon also made the leap into education and found a new passion.
In 2017, Edge Academy of Beauty was founded. The staff and founders are driven to provide a world class education, develop leaders in the field, and a service to the community. Their goal from the beginning was to provide a place where students feel valued, safe, and cared for. Education has the power to change lives and change the world. The owners and staff are deeply committed to providing an education that can change the lives of its students and improve the community they serve.

Co-Founder & Lead Instructor
Jimmy has over 28 years of experience in the field, having owned and operated a successful salon for the majority of them. He has over 10 years of experience as an instructor in the field of cosmetology, gaining him an impeccable reputation as a teacher with a sincere desire to see all of his students become successful.

Scarlett Napier
Instructor & Administrative Lead
For more than 28 years, Scarlett has been in the field of cosmetology. Since 1993, She has owned and operated Edge Salon which continues through today. Her reputation precedes her as a leading stylist and educator. She dedicates herself to the latest trends and ensuring her students are prepared to enter the field successfully.
Holly Carr
Instructor
Holly dreamed of becoming a cosmetologist as early as second grade. She attended cosmetology school at Somerset Community College, graduating with an associate's degree in science. She became an instructor in 2019, beginning her career as adjunct faculty. She now shares her passion with students as an instructor at Edge Academy.
